Privacy Policy

Effective September 13, 2026

Plain-language commitmentWe use your information to run and improve Mixo—not to sell your personal information for money.

Who operates Mixo

Mixo is operated by Charles Pareto in California, United States. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to privacy@mixoblends.com.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including your first and last name, email address, date of birth, profile preferences, authentication records, fragrance collection, blends, ratings, favorites, fragrance performance votes, wear-test feedback, support requests, problem reports, and other contributions you choose to submit.

If you purchase Mixo+ through Apple, we receive transaction and entitlement information needed to verify and provide your subscription. Apple processes your payment information; Mixo does not receive your full payment-card details.

For website purchases, Stripe processes payments and stores payment methods for authorized recurring billing. Payment details entered into Stripe's secure fields go directly to Stripe; Mixo does not receive your full card number or security code. We exchange account and billing information with Stripe as needed to process your purchase, associate it with your Mixo account, prevent fraud, and manage subscriptions. We receive customer, checkout, subscription, invoice, and transaction identifiers and information such as the plan, amount, currency, payment status, billing dates, cancellations, and refunds.

Stripe also processes information under its own privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy. If you choose Stripe Link or another payment service, that service's terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of it.

Before a new purchase, we retain subscription agreement records, including the terms version, acceptance time, account, purchase-attempt or checkout reference, selected plan and price, and the billing disclosure accepted. Apple prices recorded before purchase reflect the app's displayed offer; Apple confirms the final payment terms. Agreement is not proof of a completed payment. These records help document authorization, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations; necessary billing records may be retained after account deletion without the direct account link.

Account and subscription analytics

Mixo maintains a private lifecycle ledger to understand audience growth, account retention, paid conversion, renewals, plan changes, subscription health, and cancellations. It may contain a random analytics subject identifier; account creation and deletion dates; subscription product and status; renewal and plan-change events; auto-renewal status; expiration dates; and whether an event occurred in Apple's sandbox or production environment.

While an account exists, the analytics subject can be linked to its Mixo account identifier for authorized super-administrator reporting. After account deletion, that direct link is removed, and the analytics ledger does not retain the account's email address or name. Mixo uses this information for internal product and business analytics, service operation, fraud prevention, and subscription support—not for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Product engagement analytics

Mixo records privacy-conscious activity counts to understand whether people actively use the service and which major features are useful. This can include app foreground-session times and high-level completed actions such as creating a blend, logging a wear test, adding a fragrance to a collection, or starting a collection scan.

The engagement ledger uses a random analytics subject identifier and does not store search text, fragrance or blend names, catalog selections, photos, comments, precise device identifiers, or arbitrary event metadata. Raw engagement events are retained for up to 400 days for daily, weekly, monthly, and usage-based retention reporting. This information is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Technical and diagnostic information

We may receive app version, build number, operating-system version, device model, and limited crash, hang, error, and security metadata to diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

AI-assisted features

When you request an AI-assisted explanation or analysis, selected fragrance names and the blend information needed to answer the request may be sent through Mixo's server to an AI service provider. Do not include sensitive personal information in blend names, feedback, reports, or other free-text fields.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide fragrance collections, blends, ratings, favorites, wear-test reminders, explanations, and Mixo+ features; measure audience growth, retention, paid conversion, and subscription performance; process support requests; maintain and improve the service; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We share information with service providers only as reasonably necessary for authentication, database hosting, server functions, transactional email delivery, diagnostics, payment processing, recurring billing, fraud prevention, subscription verification, and AI-assisted features. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Mixo, or others. We do not sell personal information for money.

Public content

Blends you choose to publish, together with associated display information such as the blend name and creator name, may be visible to other users. Your first and last name are also shown with ratings and reviews you submit. Do not include private information in public blend content.

Notifications and device permissions

Wear-test reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Mixo, measure account and subscription trends, maintain security, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. You can delete your account from Account → Delete Account in the app. Account-linked personal data will be deleted or anonymized, subject to legal and operational retention needs. Public catalog contributions and de-identified account or subscription lifecycle records may remain without an association to the deleted account.

Your choices and California privacy rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by using the in-app controls or emailing privacy@mixoblends.com. California residents may also request information about applicable collection, use, and disclosure practices and may exercise rights available under California law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security and children

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Mixo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Mixo or its data practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
